Virtual Assistant Directory – Add Yourself!

Mia Chambers Virtual Assistant DirectoryI’ve been meaning to create a directory of Virtual Assistants (VAs) and their skill sets for a while. I saw @Minervity tweet this link out this morning and it gave me the gentle nudge I needed to get the ball rolling.

I consult with a lot of potential clients (PCs) and when they aren’t the right fit for me, I want to send them in a direction that will help them find their ideal VA.

The concept hasn’t been fully realized yet. There are a few directions I can head into: a RFP center, a membership/forum site where I make all of my templates available… your suggestions are welcomed.

What I do know is that there will never be a cost associated with simply listing your VA business in this directory.

At this stage in the game, if you’d like to be included, all you have to do is provide the following information in a comment.

I will keep you posted on what/when/how, but in the meantime, I’ll be able to reference the VAs on the list so that when a PC doesn’t work with me, they have another resource in their quest to find a VA.

    Story:
My name is Jenny Sheehan and I own Jenny Sheehan Virtual Assistant LLC. I started my Virtual Assistance practice in fall 2004 after completing the premier Virtual Training Program through Assist University. When I first learned about Virtual Assistance, I knew it would be perfect for me and, it has become my “dream job”. No matter what setting I was working in, it seemed like I was always the person to organize, create new ways of doing things, and create supporting materials. I enjoy tackling hard projects and finding ways to do them simpler and more efficiently. Having my own business was a culmination of my vision for the future, my hard work and persistence.
I love partnering with my amazing clients and really getting to know their business intimately. Although I enjoy all the technical aspects of my work, what pumps me up is being able to create long-term relationships with each of my clients. As I get to know their business more, our level of work just expands and grows deeper. Trust builds up and they view me as a trusted advisor, partner, and ally. I thrive on brainstorming with my clients, generating ideas, helping them create a vision and plan for their own business that can grow with my assistance. I am there for them, so that they can have the time and energy to devote to doing what they do best; while I work behind-the-scenes doing what I do best.

    Getting personal
Let me tell you a little more about myself on a personal level. I am a woman of the west! I spent the first 24 years of my life in Orange County, California (home of Disneyland), then I moved to Tucson, Arizona where I met my husband. I now live in Santa Fe, New Mexico with my husband and daughter. We love getting out into nature by hiking, snowshoeing, camping, and backpacking. I also love to go on road trips to explore our beautiful country.
Around home I enjoy working in the garden and designing my landscaping. If there is a new recipe to try I will be in the kitchen whipping it up; my family reaps the benefits of my obsession with cooking with all the yummy meals they get to eat. I was on the organic bandwagon way back when it wasn't well known (in the late 80's); I still seek out quality organic ingredients for my cooking, but these days I am more interested in eating locally when I can. So I will pass up that fruit if it has to travel all the way from South America, in favor of an item that has been grown close to home. In the summers, here in New Mexico, we grow a bountiful community garden that I am a part of - now that is really local!
I live in a small cohousing community in Santa Fe, called Tres Placitas del Rio; there are 11 households living on 2.6 acres, we each own our homes but share the rest of the land where we have the garden I mentioned as well as a beautiful outdoor gathering space (plaza) and a barn where our goats and chickens live. In my other spare time I knit, read, and watch movies with my DH.

Target Market – (if you have one)
I am a member of Third Tribe Marketing and Remarkable Marketing Blueprint. Because I have a day job, I haven’t implemented as much of what I’ve learned as I would like, but I work on it every day. My target market would be clients who understand these marketing concepts and wish to apply them.

    Skills – (Software)
WordPress – I can set up a site from scratch and get it running. I do customization with plugins, nothing fancy, but I’m thorough.

WordPress plugins – I really enjoy finding the right plugin for the job.

Camtasia – own the software, can’t say I’m proficient. Could do simple projects.

WishList Member training – can’t say I’m proficient in this either. Would like the opportunity to apply what I’m learning in Remarkable Marketing Blueprint here.

Twitter Marketing – I have had some success marketing my ebooks on Twitter. I am in the process of researching and targeting sales through the use of Twitter. I would enjoy doing this for a client.
